On a bright Tuesday morning, students, families, teachers, and local officials gathered on a soon-to-be construction site off South Scales Street to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the new Reidsville Elementary School. Hard hats were passed around, ceremonial shovels hit the dirt, and for many in attendance, it was the moment years of planning — and plenty of patience — finally felt real.
